Keeping it real!
I’m about that. I respect and appreciate that quality about other people and I hold myself by the same standard. Keep it real, be authentic, be you.
Pawel Widuto, the warrior poet, is as real as it gets and that’s why it’s my great pleasure to write the forward to his very sincere and helpful book the Warrior Poet.
The training systems, methods and tools outlined, starting with you/your own body are second to none. His experience in the training from mace, clubs, buluva, Kettlebells, and bodyweight are inspired by martial arts and understanding that every tool is an extension of the hand/body. This authentic experience in testing and implementing is the Warrior.
The focus is on quality and clarity.
I have always believed that if a book offered me one Takeaway value and nothing more, it was a worthwhile read. Well, I can list several takeaways. What really speaks to me is the connection that he discusses between the names of the exercises and how we associate our movements. The name leads to the visualization of the angles. I’ve always done that intuitively but have never made the connection as a way to teach others. Really brilliant!
The practical advice from years of application about stress response is a very important section of this book. Because the world moves very rapidly and we are all exposed to tremendous stressors. How we learn to handle this is a survival skill and we can cultivate it through such intelligent training as Pawel represents throughout the Warrior Poet.
The logical, considered, passionate, seeking, questioning is the Poet.
Together you have the evolving man, a voice of reason in the chaos that says to be true to you.
Further, Pawel presents a vitally important message about accepting yourself, believing in yourself, and not giving up.
Above all this is a love story really, a story of love. The warrior poet is to say that the greatest strength comes from love itself and the poet expresses his own unique feelings of love through movement.
True to who he is, Pawel shares in this book
“Stay true to who you are.”
